Il 25 luglio 2016 un utente di nome Dino ha condiviso la seguente immagine con il seguente testo

L’esemplare condotta di un sindaco canadeseUn sindaco canadese,alla richiesta di alcune famiglie mussulmane di abolire la carne di maiale dalle mense scolastiche,così ha risposto: “I mussulmani devono capire che sono loro a doversi adattare allo stile di vita del Canada.Se non si sentono a loro agio ci sono 57 bellissimi paesi islamici pronti ad accoglierli”. Perfetto! Mi vien voglia di trasferirmi in Canada.
Conosco questa “lettera”, venne citata anche dal quotidiano Italia Oggi nel 2014:
I genitori musulmani avevano chiesto l’eliminazione della carne di maiale dal menù nelle mense di tutte le scuole di Dorval, un sobborgo di Montreal. Il sindaco però si è rifiutato e il segretario comunale ha spedito una lettera a tutti i genitori per spiegarne i motivi.
Il comune canadese citato dalla “lettera” è quello di Dorval, il quale smentì questa diceria il 27 gennaio 2015 con il seguente comunicato stampa:
The City of Dorval Denounces False News Circulating on the Internet
Dorval, January 27, 2015 – For a number of weeks now, false news has been circulating on social networks, as well as via a string of emails, about the Mayor of Dorval having allegedly refused to follow up on a request from Muslim parents asking him to remove pork from the City’s school cafeterias. The story also quotes speculative comments from the Mayor in regards to Muslims.
The City of Dorval wishes to denounce this false article and resents this identity usurpation. Internet users across the world have published this false news as it was true, and the Mayor would like to set the record straight by saying that, on no account, he, nor any the City’s representatives, have made such comments.
Albeit difficult to track the origins of this hoax, our research has led us to believe that it started in the United States. A similar hoax about a Mayor in Belgium had traveled the Web in 2013.
